Dinosaurs roamed the earth many thousands of years ago. There were dinosaurs that flew, some which were no larger than a small cat, and others which were literally enormous. Thunder lizards is the term given to dinosaurs, but not all dinosaurs were very large. Some were the size of a turkey, while others weighed many thousand tons.

All that we know about dinosaurs has been taken from a wide variety of places, but of course, since no one has ever seen a living dinosaur, we’re guessing a lot about them.

Our knowledge comes from fossils, from non fossil items, from bones, feathers, even impression of their skin, from impressions left in sand or in soil or rock of their soft tissue and even sometimes their internal organs.

The scientists responsible for our knowing about dinosaurs are also in many different kinds of places. Scientists have found dinosaurs when they were looking for them, as in the case of archeologists, and even when they were not, as in the case of those who were drilling for oil, or working with coal..
